Climate Change Is Here, So Be Flexible

Climate change has been making a strong statement throughout North America for the last month or so.

And a Coastal Resources Manager with the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation says in the immediate future, despite our best efforts, there's very little we can do to turn it around.

Geoff Peach explains some of the changes could even be beneficial, but also have a down side.

He suggests a longer growing season could be a good thing, but it could also mean a new set of problems with pests.

Peach adds all we can do for now is learn to be flexible and adapt to the changes because long-range trends indicate more intense weather events and less predictability than we're used to.

With the impact of climate change becoming more common, Peach says it's more important than ever to check weather forecasts on a regular basis to be prepared.
