A West Grey man spent the weekend behind bars after an incident early Friday.
About 5:30 a.m. Friday, Grey County OPP were called to a residence on Grey Rd. 109 in the Township of Southgate.
A male had threatened the homeowner and caused damage to property after being refused entry to speak with his ex-girlfriend who was staying there.
Police say the accused got a hatchet from his pick-up truck and proceeded to hit the door frame repeatedly with it in an effort to gain entry to the house.
He then drove his pick-up truck across the front yard, causing damage to the lawn before ramming his truck into the back of vehicle parked in the driveway.
No one was injured.
The 33-year old West Grey man was arrested at the scene without incident and held for a bail hearing today on charges of mischief, uttering death threats, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
