Meaford Showcases Photography

The scenic beauty of the Meaford area can be a major drawing card for tourists, but it proved to be a major challenge recently to the judges for the annual Views of Meaford photo contest.

Amy Jennison says she received so many great photos this year that it was difficult for the judges to choose just one from each category.

Jennison is the community outreach advisor for Meaford Public Library. She was also the organizer of this year’s Views of Meaford Photography Contest.

The Views of Meaford Photo Contest is a partnership between Meaford Public Library and the Municipality.

Contestants can enter their photos in one or more of six categories.

The grand champion was Robin Jowett, whose photo showed a couple watching a sunset. It will be transformed into a painting by local artist, Terry Best.

Class winners: Deanna Jenkins’ - Scenery class Bob Buckton - Festivals and Events class Evelyn Dean’s - Local History and Big Red Chairs classes Heather Barker - Architecture and On Vacation class
