North Huron Prepares Cross Border Service Policy

North Huron will be waiting for some feedback from Morris-Turnberry tonight.

Council passed their cross border service policy at last night's meeting to address the costs associated with an outside property that would require services from the township.

The new policy from North Huron hopes to be more accommodating to their neighbours by handling the recovery of costs on a case-by-case basis to determine how funds are recovered and allow for negotiations between both sides.

North Huron CAO Sharon Chambers said a joint statement would be released following tonight's Morris Turnberry council meeting.

A letter from Central Huron staff found the policy to be well written and adds there are areas that would need negotiating in the event of any future projects.
