Input Key In Huron County Economic Strategy

Huron County's CAO says the county's economic development restructuring will rely on input from the business community.

Brenda Orchard says that input will come from the new Economic Development Board which replaces a committee.

"The board is leading our economic development efforts," says Orchard. "I think it's important for the business community to have input into that and to review the work plans and the progress that staff is making."

The strategy will incorporate lower-tier municipal plans that will eventually dictate the final structure of the county's program.

"Our plan is to do the strategic plan, then develop work plans to fulfill the strategic plan," adds Orchard. "Then, make staffing, job description changes and everything that we need to do to address the work plans."
