The Ontario Special Investigations Unit say they are investigating an overnight incident in Markdale where a man died after being handcuffed.
The SIU say OPP officers responded to an address at Main Street West at around 1:35am on Wednesday, to assist paramedics.Police say the male went into medical distress after he was placed in handcuffs.
He was taken to Markdale hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A total of three investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to probe the incident.
