Meaford Students Build Big Chairs For Scenic Lookouts

Five scenic spots in the Municipality of Meaford are about to become even more scenic this week.

At 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Barbara Clumpus will be cutting a ribbon tied around one of five big red Muskoka chairs built by students from Georgian Bay Secondary School.

The ribbon-cutting will take place at the Irish Mountain Lookout.

Residents are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting and are encouraged to take in one of the best views around, where the picturesque Georgian Bay meets the rolling countryside.

You can reach the Irish Mountain Lookout by driving north on Grey Road 112 from Highway 26, between Meaford and Owen Sound.

The other four scenic spots where GBSS students will place a big red chair are Leith Beach Park, Station Hill Park, Fred Raper Park and Memorial Park.
