The NDP Candidate for Bruce Grey Owen Sound accuses MP Larry Miller and Prime Minister Harper of playing hide and seek with the voters as the fall election approaches.
David McLaren wants to talk about inequality, poverty, and peace.
But he says Larry Miller refuses to debate those issues unless he gets to pick the format.
McLaren says debates are an integral part of democracy.
He says a candidate for public office should defend and stand for their beliefs in a public forum.
A meeting this Thursday at the Owen Sound public Library starts at 7pm, featuring McLaren, and Liberal Candidate Kimberley Love.
The discussion will look at how to create more democratically representative government . The Conservative majority in 2011 was won with less than 40% of the vote.
