Wingham Library Renamed In Honour Of Alice Munro

The sign on the Wingham Library Branch building has already changed,  but today it becomes official.A ceremony at 12:30pm this afternoon will rename the branch the Alice Munro Public Library.

The event will include speeches by the North Huron reeve, Library board chair, Wingham Friends of the Library Chair and a representative for Alice Munro.

The Wingham native won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2013.

The renaming of the library is part of the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story.   The Short Story Contest awards will be presented tonight at the Jubilee Gala at the Knights of Columbus Centre in Wingham.
