Bruce Power Offers $20K Aboriginal Scholarship Fund

Bruce Power is offering a new $20,000 scholarship program for aboriginal students to help pay for further post-secondary education.

Ten students will receive $2,000 annually beyond their first year of post-secondary. Bruce Power says that the money could assist with essential materials such as travel, accommodations, tuition, and books.

“Education is such a crucial stepping stone in life, but it can be an expensive one, so we’re proud to be able to help local young people reach their dreams,” says Bruce Power’s President and CEO Duncan Hawthorne in a media release. “This will help students to get in a better position to apply for jobs at Bruce Power and other companies.”

Saugeen, Nawash, Historic Saugeen Metis and members of Metis Nation of Ontario Region 7 can apply for the scholarship as long as they have completed their first year of post-secondary education.
