Many Owen Sound Residents Still Without Water

The City of Owen Sound says officials are making progress in resolving frozen watermains and services.

The number of new frozen lines is starting to decline, and workers have been able to reduce a backlog of service calls.

The city has received 295 reports of frozen services, and has managed to restore water for 180 customers.

The city is providing temporary services from neighbouring homes.

In areas of the city where freezing conditions are extreme, the city has been unsuccessful in restoring services. They now plan to construct temporary watermains to serve residents from adjacent hydrants.

If you are running a tap to prevent freezing pipes, you should continue to do so despite the mild weather, until informed otherwise.
