The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich and the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health in Seaforth signed a collaborative partnership at the hospital yesterday.
Gwen Devereaux is involved in recruitment and business innovation with the hospital and is the president of Gateway and describes the agreement as a win-win for both organizations.
She adds the hospital and Gateway have been work together informally for several years and so the agreement formalizes that relationship.
Devereaux points out there are more chonic diseases, like diabetes and heart disease, than urban centres.
She says the goal of both organizations is the find out why those differences exist and then determine how they can be addressed.
