211 Day Raises Awareness Of Service

Today is 211 Day across North America.

Huron County Deputy Chief of Emergency Services Jeff Horseman explains the objective of having a 211 day is to raise awareness of the telephone service.

Horseman points out 211 is the gateway to a range of social, health, and other non-emergency services provided by a community that most people might have difficulty finding.

By calling 211 or going on to the web site at www.211ontario.ca, people can easily access the service they're looking for.

Horseman adds the phone line is answered by a person who is well-trained in navigating the system and can direct people to the agency they're looking for.
