Bruce Power Encourages Citizens To Get Involved In Re-Licensing

Bruce Power is starting it's lengthy re-licensing process. It's applying for a five-year renewal of the reactor operating licence for Bruce A and B.

The date for the formal hearing in Ottawa is February 5. The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission will hold three days of public hearings at the Legion in Kincardine April 14-16.

Members of the public can comment on Bruce Power’s application during the Kincardine hearing. Requests to Intervene must be filed with the Secretary of the Commission in Ottawa by March 16.

The public hearings will be webcast live and then archived for a period of 90 days on the CNSC website, www.nuclearsafety.gc.ca.
