As of 8:50pm:
Power in the eastern area of Grey County, Dundalk and surrounding areas, is estimated to be restored by 11:00pm according to Hydro One.
Equipment failure is being stated for the reason of the outage. Over 4,900 Hydro One customers are affected by the outage.
Power was restored to parts of Huron County and Perth County earlier this evening after an outage that lasted through the latter parts of this afternoon and into early this evening.
At one point, over 25,000 Hydro One customers were affected.
As of 4:45pm:
Hydro One crews are working on the unplanned outage that affected much of the same area that was affected by an outage last week.
According to Hydro One, there has been a partial restoration with full restoration now estimated to be around 7:30pm. The outage is affecting many communities in Huron County and parts of Perth County.
There is also an outage affecting 4,881 Hydro One customers in the souteastern part of Grey County, that includes Dundalk. Equipment failure is listed as the cause. Restoration time there is 7:30pm.
As of 4:00pm:
Hydro One says there has been a partial restoration in an area that covers most of Huron County and parts of Perth County.
The restoration time now sits at 6:30pm.
Over 25,000 Hydro One customers are affected.
From 2:17pm:
Hydro One crews are working on the main line that runs into Goderich and it's affecting power in multiple communities, affecting 23,000 customers.
The area that is affected is similar to the one that lost power last Wednesday, December 10. The work that is being done is on the main feeder line from Hydro One that carries power into parts of Huron County and it's also affecting customers of smaller utilities.
It was not a planned outage and according to Hydro One, the restoration time is sometime between 4:45pm and 5:45pm.
Communities that are affected include Goderich, Clinton, Seaforth, Exeter, Brussels and others.
