Rivers and Streams High: Freeze Overnight

Local Conservation Authorities are keeping a close eye on watercourses today.

With the mild temperatures and steady rain over the past two days, water levels in rivers, streams and creeks are above normal today.

But officials say almost all of the larger watercourses are open and flowing freely, and no significant flooding is expected.

Residents are reminded to use caution near all watercourses because the water is moving faster and higher than normal. Slippery and unstable banks will create additional hazards.

A quick freeze is expected tonight.   Temperatures will drop below freezing, and any rainfall will turn to flurries.
