Environment Canada Warns Of Mild Conditions

Environment Canada has put the region, and most of the province, under a special weather statement warning of mild conditions Sunday and Monday.

The national weather service says a strong system is headed for Ontario from Kansas, bringing with it heavy rain and heavy winds.

Forecasters predict anywhere from 15 mm to 30 mm of rain and wind gusts up to 90 km/h before the system tapers off on Monday.

They did mention the impact on the snow melt, saying flooding is possible.

However, both the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority and Maitland Valley Conservation Authority are monitoring the rainfall, and are not anticipating flood waters in this part of the province.
