St. Marys lawyer and town councillor Stephen McCotter will carry the banner for the Liberals in Perth-Wellington in next year's federal election.
McCotter defeated Colin Thomson at last night's nomination meeting in Stratford.
McCotter said he was surprised and impressed by the number of people that came out considering the storymy weather, and adds over 150 votes were cast.
McCotter points to the economy as his major concern for his riding. He says the middle class is disappearing as costs increase and salaries stay the same or decrease, and that will be his focus for the Perth-Wellington campaign.
