Goderich Subdivision Plans Revised

Goderich council has amended a zoning bylaw that will allow the Fusion Homes development at the south end of the town, west of Highway 21 to move forward.

Planner Victor Kloeze explains residents adjacent to the new development had expressed concerns that the proposed frontages for some of the homes were too small and would not conform to the rest of the neighbourhood.

The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority also had some concerns about development in sensitive areas of the property, including the the areas at the top of the bank where there are erosion issues.

Kloeze adds the Conservation Authority also wanted input into any development along the linear wetland which makes up part of the storm water management system of the development.

Kloeze says they were able to make the changes the MVCA had requested and reached a compromise with the developers on the size of frontage for the lots and council approved the changes.
