Huron-Kinloss Mayor Puts Name In For Warden

The mayor of Huron-Kinloss is looking to become the warden of Bruce County for the second time.

Mitch Twolan says he will put his name forward when the warden election is held on December 4, looking to recapture the job he held in 2007.  Twolan says he's looking to hold the warden's position on the heels of a successful mayoral campaign that saw him capture nearly 90% of the vote in Huron-Kinloss, adding he also has the blessing from his council to take on the extra duties if he's elected.

As for priorities, if he heads up Bruce County council in 2015, Twolan says he would focus on further implementation of recommendations from the county's operational review that was completed earlier this year.

"That was a major undertaking by the County of Bruce, to see that through, or most of it through. We can't get it all done in one year, but obviously the continuation of that is going to be very important," says Twolan.

To this point, no other candidates have stepped forward to challenge Twolan.
