Central Huron Beach Access Confirmed

Public access to the beaches along the Central Huron shoreline has become a council issue.

Mayor Jim Ginn explains the public has access to all of the municipal roads that lead to the beaches, but some of them are not maintained and natural vegetation growth makes access difficult.

But Ginn points out public access at the Lane of Pines and the Black’s Point property are maintained with a sizable area at the top and a path down to the shoreline.

Ginn explains the problem seems to be at the Lane of Pines site, where some property owners have attempted to deny access to the public. Ginn says members of the public have every right to access the lakeshore at that point.
