Kincardine Resident Falls For Bank Scam

There is no magic to preventing fraud – a lesson a Kincardine resident has learned the hard way.

South Bruce OPP say the resident got a call from someone claiming to be a Bank of Montreal employee, who claimed an internal banking error that meant the customer owed the bank $4,600.

An arrangement was made for the money to be hand delivered at Victoria Park in Kincardine.

Unfortunately, the money was gone before the resident realized it was a scam.

Police remind residents to always be cautious when you receive unsolicited calls involving your money or personal information.

If it seems too good to be true, it most likely is.
