OSCVI Fundraiser For Cancer Victims

Families dealing with cancer got some help from Owen Sound and area young people on Thursday.

The Inside Ride event at OSCVI had students dressed in crazy costumes, riding stationary bikes to raise money for the organization called Childcan.   It helps families cover the costs related to cancer care treatments.

The event at OSCVI remembers Brendan Rourke who died of the disease at the age of 19.   His father Neal says people in Grey and Bruce always step up to help when they see a need.

Organizers say they raised $27,500, to bring the three year total to $74,500.
