Work on the historic Point Clark lighthouse is getting underway again.
The beacon for Lake Huron ships has been closed because of a falling rock face.
Previous attempts to repair the outside of the lighthouse have been halted because crews found the damage more extensive than first thought.
Crews were at the site Wednesday preparing for the work which will begin next week.
The lighthouse is owned by Parks Canada and is one of the main drawing cards for tourism in Huron-Kinloss Township.
It marked its 150th birthday in 2009.
The structure, one of the first Imperial Towers to signal to sailors, was built between 1855 and 1859.
It warned sailors of a shoal about three kilometres offshore
