GOJHL Wrap: Warriors Lose, Sugar Kings and Dutchmen Earn Wins

Waterloo 4 Stratford 2

Waterloo jumped out to a three goal lead in the first period and the Stratford Warriors struggled to recover in a 4-2 loss to the Siskins.

Sean Ross put the Warriors on the board late in the second and scored again late in the third with the extra attacker.

Zack Weir took the loss for Stratford, stopping 38 shots. Mat Onuska made 27 saves for the Siskins.

Elmira 5 Brantford 2

Brody Waters set up three of the Sugar Kings 5 goals and Elmira beat Brantford 5-2.

Jeremey Goodwin had a pair of goals in the win and Isaac Taylor scored and set up another. Other scorers: Tyson Hillier and Hunter Dubecki.

Rhett Kimmel stopped 20 shots in the victory.

Kitchener 5 Cambridge 3

Tyler Harrison scored the game winner at 8:07 of the third period and Jeff Schrattner added insurance in an empty Winterhawks net and Kitchener beat Cambridge 5-3.

Kole Scott put the Dutchmen on the board midway through the first. Austin Forsyth answered for Cambridge 90 seconds later.

Alex Peterson scored on the power play 45 seconds after that and Payton McLeish made it a tie game before the period was over.

Sean Kawalec scored early in the second to give the Dutchmen the lead but Austin Forsyth was able to tie with a power play goal before the midway point of the game.
