The Huron Women's Shelter in Goderich is challenging men to walk a mile in women's shoes next month.
Interim Executive Director Susan Dill explains Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an international event to raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault. She also points out it's not just a women's issue but also for men who support women and that could include co-workers, neighbours and friends.
Dill says they supply the shoes, and she has 178 pair of shiny red pumps for the occasion.
Men will be fitted at the Livery at 10am on September 22 and will then walk from the Livery, around the courthouse, down side streets and back to the Livery.
She adds women are invited to come out and cheer the men on.
