Arrest Made In Owen Sound Business Break-in

A Wiarton man is facing half-a-dozen criminal charges following his arrest in Owen Sound Tuesday.

A business owner in the 300-block of 8th St. E contacted the Owen Sound Police Service Tuesday morning after a suspected break and enter.  The victim reported that the business had been entered over the weekend and that several computers and other items had been stolen.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Branch reviewed the building's surveillance video and were able to identify a suspect.

He was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in the 200-block of 11th St. E.

The 39-year-old Wiarton man will appear in court next month to answer to the charges of break and enter with intent, theft over $5,000, mischief, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
