Conners Struggles at Barracuda Open

Listowel's Corey Conners struggled in his opening round of the Barracuda Open in Reno, finishing at even par and earning no points in the Modified Stableford Scoring format.

Conners started out strong, hitting par on the first three holes of the back nine, then putting for eagle on the 13th hole. Following par on the 14th and 15th holes, Conners ran into trouble, shooting a triple bogey on the 16th. The PGA Tour rookie looked to recover with a birdie on the 17th hole but then suffered another triple bogey on the first hole.

The roller coaster continued with a bogey on the third followed by a birdie on the fourth. then a bogey on the sixth and double bogey on the 7th followed by a birdie on the eighth hole.

Play resumes this morning with Conners tied for 105th. Ben Silverman is the highest scoring Canadian with 11 points. American Ollie Schniederjans is in the lead with 17 points.
