Cyclones Announce 3 New Signings

The Listowel Cyclones made three new signings recently to help bolster their roster after losing a number of key players from last year's championship runs.

One of those players, Hayden Coulter, already has a winning pedigree from his two championships in Jr. C with Mount Forest. Cyclones coach Jason Brooks says that will be a big help.

"His experience in Mount Forest and the success that program had when he was there, you know, bringing him into the fold with that pedigree to coincide with some of the Waterloo major midgets that we've signed, they've had a lot of success this season."

Brook says another addition, Tyson Koopman from Palmerston, is someone they've had their eye on for some time.

"Knowing Tyson like I do, he brings size and speed as well and offensive presence hopefully as he gets older. As his game evolves I think that will definitely help us," he says, "he has a lot of tools."

The club also signed former St. Thomas Stars forward Craig McKague. Brooks says he brings wealth of GOJHL experience with him.

"There's a kids that's been through a playoff, who's been through the grind of a tour to league final," Brooks says. "To add his strength, his maturity, to me I see him filling a Caleb Warren type role."
