Bayfield 'Vette Fest' A Big Success Again

This year's Bayfield Vette Fest attracted almost 300 Corvettes.

Organizer Brian Combs says it's the second biggest turnout yet. Combs says Corvette owners from all over Ontario drove to Bayfield for Saturday's event and one Corvette owner drove all the way from Winnipeg. Combs explains he had been to the Vette Fest before as a spectator but decided to drive his own Corvette to this year's show.

“This year we have had 286 cars register with probably another 25 to 30 outside. It's probably our second best year," he says.

Combs says he believes improvements in the engineering have made the newer Corvettes very popular.

“I just find even some of the elder folks who used to drive the older cars are now driving new cars, they're just more comfortable, more reliable. If you wanna jump in the car and go on a long trip, you can.”

Proceeds from the event go to local charities.
