Firefighters Win Huron County EMS Pulling Event

They ride in their vehicles day and night, but Huron County emergency services personnel have discovered it's not that easy to pull one of them.

The first-ever Huron County OPP Youth Advisory Council EMS 'Pulling Event' was held at the Clinton Raceway.

The five-member teams had to race against the clock to pull a fire truck, ambulance, and police cruiser each a distance of 25 metres down the horse track.

The combined team from the North Huron and Central Huron Fire Department came out on top. Huron County Paramedic Services finished second, leaving the two Huron OPP teams in third and fourth place.

A total of $914 was donated to the Tanner Steffler Foundation from the proceeds.

The foundation is committed to promoting awareness and creating a culture of change in mental health, addiction and wellness services for youth and families in Huron County.
