Minto council likes the idea of giving the next council a raise in 2019.
It will also include compensation for loss of income if the federal government goes through with plans to take away the tax-free status on one-third of their pay.
Losing the tax exemption will cost councillors about $1,200, the deputy mayor $1,500, and the mayor $2,100.
The pay increase amounts to about an extra 3.5%.
