Team Canada Goalie to Sign Autographs in Blyth

A local hockey hero is coming home to do some fundraising later this month.

Goalie Justin Peters, a long-time NHLer and recent bronze medal winner with Canada at the Winter Games, will be coming to the Blyth Lion's Park for an autograph meet and greet. Peters says representing Canada was a massive honour.

"To go over there and experience it and get to interact with athletes from all over the world, and then to top if off and come back with some hardware is something I'll have for the rest of my life. I can share it with my kid and my family, friends and family back home, it's pretty special."
Peters says that it's important to him to try and give back to his community.
"I think this gives me an opportunity to share this with the community, and also to try and inspire even just one kid. Even if I inspire just one kid, that's worth it."
Peters will be at the Blyth Lion's Park on July 15th from 3-5 pm to sign autographs, with all proceeds going to Blyth-Brussels Minor Hockey Association.
