Local Online Survey of Workers and Jobseekers Begins

After several years of surveying local employers, the Four County Labour Market Planning Board is conducting a survey of workers and job seekers in Bruce, Grey, Huron and Perth counties.

The survey is open to anyone who is working or looking for work - in the four-county area.

The Planning Board’s annual EmployerOne survey gathers data from the demand-side of the labour market, but does not capture information from those who are employed or searching for work.

This supply-side labour market information is critical to understanding employment needs in communities.

The Employee Survey is open until October 1, 201,8 and is anonymous and confidential.

"It is extremely important for us to ask anonymously about workplace experiences so that we can gather accurate, honest feedback about people’s employment challenges," says Gemma Mendez-Smith, executive director. "For the first time, we will be gathering information about why employees have quit jobs, and which factors are most important to people when they are looking for employment or considering switching jobs."

The new survey is designed to capture this information, and draw comparisons with the EmployerOne survey which will give a more complete picture of the local labour market.
