7ACRES Job Fair Saturday In Port Elgin

The official legalization of recreational marijuana this fall has triggered action by one of Bruce County's licensed growers.

Tiverton-based 7ACRES plans to hire up to 400 employees for its greenhouse operation by this time next year.

The company is hosting three job fairs - the first one is Saturday, June 23 at the Port Elgin Rotary Hall from 10am to 2pm.

Company job fairs are also being held on Saturday, July 7 at the Hanover Columbus Centre and Saturday, July 28 at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine. They also run from 10am to 2pm each day.

Earlier this week, 33 employees were recognized for graduating from the leadership courses provided by 7ACRES School of Management. The ceremony was at the Southampton Golf and Country Club.

In a news release, Director of Human Resources Lorne Lazenby stated, "7ACRES School of Management’s focus was to learn the core skills of effective leadership. How to enhance your team through engagement, motivation and performance management. How to save time, money and resources, all together leading your team to success".

7ACRES grows plants that combine indoor cannabis cultivation with the power of the sun.
