Courthouse Square In Goderich Will Be Packed Saturday

Huron County's seventh annual Multi-Cultural Festival takes place on the Square in Goderich this Saturday.

Cultural Services Director Rick Sickenger says singers and dancers will perform for eight hours, starting at noon.

Some some of the acts this year include White Pine Dancers from Six Nations in Brantford, a Jamaican steel drum group, folk dancers from Mexico, Syrian folk dance, Scottish, country dancing and dancers from Bhutan.

"We also have a couple of large bands playing later in the evening or late afternoon. We have this year's Juno Award winner for best world music album Kobo Town performing, and we have Fantana which are a fusion group that includes world music as well as flamenco dancing," explains Sickenger.

He adds the festival has grown very well since it started and now attracts about 3,000 people for the day.
