Hanover Mayor Gives Update On Town's Progress

As municipal councils wind down for the summer and municipal elections get closer, Hanover Mayor Sue Patterson says the last few years have been very successful for the town.

Patterson says there were a number of projects that have been completed that are worth being proud of.

"We have six subdivisions in various stages," she says. "We’ve got some good businesses coming into town, Gateway Casinos is doing major renovations. We have a Tim Horton’s, a new high school being built. Our second phase of the business park is almost completely sold."

Mayor Patterson also cited the construction on 7th Ave. and the downtown façade incentive.

However, she says there are some things that still need to be done in the town over the next few years.

"We are working on a cultural plan which is very important to a lot of people because it gives us direction, not only for our future but our history is very important to us and culture is a big part of that. We’re also working on just improving our quality of life here," she says.

Patterson also says they’re working on the Service Delivery review recommendations for the town.
