Another Successful Opening For Kingsbridge Musical

"Back Home: Kingsbridge The Musical 2" opened Friday night in Kingsbridge.

Warren Robinson is the creator and director of the play and his wife Eleanor is the music director and wrote all of the lyrics.

Warren describes the play as 'fiction', as they had people go out and interview elders in the community about some of their experiences. They took several of those humorous stories of things that actually happened and then invented a plot line around those stories, so the stories are actually true.

The play is performed at the former St. Joseph's church and Warren says the Kingsbridge community may have lost its church but they now have one of the most vibrant community and art centres he's ever seen.

"It's an incredible space to work in and these people, they just keep finding us more and more people who can sing extraordinarily well. It's mind-blowing," says Warren. "In over 50 years of directing, I've never come across this kind of just quantity of first-class singers."

There are performances this Friday and Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon and tickets are available at the door.
