Downtown Port Elgin To Host Bruce Power 'Block Party'

Bruce Power will celebrate summer a little differently this year.

It's moving its annual family beach party to downtown Port Elgin.

The Bruce Power Block Party will be held Saturday, July 21 in the Bricker and Green St. area of the downtown.

It runs from 11am-6pm and will feature a free family midway and inflatables, clown balloon artists, face painting, and performances by the Zacada Circus Show, which is operated by former Cirque du Soleil artists.

Performances will be held in the Port Elgin Missionary Church at noon, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm.

The Block Party will culminate with a fireworks display at dusk at the Main Beach.

"The Block Party promises to be an exciting afternoon of entertainment for the whole family," said Chris Mercanti, Bruce Power’s manager of community relations.   "We look forward to this opportunity to get together with our employees and the community to celebrate, and to offer our thanks for the incredible support we receive across the region."
