Brockton Mayor Confident Cargill Will Quickly Pay For Community Centre Renovations

Renovations to the Cargill Community Centre are just around the corner.

Brockton Mayor David Inglis says that the fundraising committee is going to tender in the next few days, and the renovations will focus on the entrance to the hall.

"It's a whole new entrance here so there will be a bigger entrance and foyer for people to come into before you enter the hall, and there's going to be a new meeting room set up on the other side as well so they're expanding that," he says.

Inglis notes it's a costly project with estimates between roughly five or six hundred thousand, but he has no doubt the community will raise the necessary funds to ensure the project gets done, with construction slated to begin this fall.

"They have a strong fundraising committee out here for events, they do really well," he says. "They had this building paid for in no time, and they'll do the same with the new entrance."
