Another Huron County Barn Quilt Tour Is Planned

Central Huron is bringing back the popular Barn Quilt bus tour this month.

Community Improvement Coordinator Angela Smith says this time the focus will be on the south end of the county.

The tour will leave the Central Huron Community Complex in Clinton at nine in the morning on Tuesday, June 12 and return at four in the afternoon. The coach bus will start out in Tuckersmith Township and then head to Hensall and from there go through South Huron, with a stop at Jerry Radar's in Zurich for lunch.

Smith notes that a year after the International Plowing Match, barn quilts are still very popular and people are still painting them.

"I think the more people see the more inspired they are and they want to partake in the program even though the plowing match is over," she says. "I think it beautifies the countryside and there 's a lot of pride and effort that goes into each and every quilt."

Tickets for the tour on June 12 can be purchased at the Clinton town hall.
