Taste Of Huron Returns

Community Futures Huron has launched the new Taste of Huron program.

Community Futures General Manager Paul Nichol says they spent the last two years looking for a way to make the program more sustainable than the single events different local businesses had hosted in the past.

Coordinator Cathy Bieman explains they wanted to encourage people to travel around and to do that they've put several tours together.

There are 21 businesses across Huron County that are on their tours and people can go online to the website www.tasteofhuron and purchase five dollar tour tickets.

Bieman adds when you go to the business you've chosen to visit, they'll give you a five dollar sample of their products. They also have beer and wine tours because they're a perfect complement to all of the local food producers.

"There's food, there's wine, there's beer because there's so many new breweries and wineries that are opening across Huron County," says Bieman. "So at their stops what they're doing is taste testing, so you can get samples that you can taste."
