Men Honoured For Saving Owen Sound Teen's Life

Two men have been recognized for saving the life of one teenage boy in Owen Sound.

In February last year, a car driven by a teen was involved in a collision with a truck on Tenth St..

Ken Quinlan and Rob Leblond rushed to help. A male passenger in the car had no vital signs and the driver who was injured.

Leblond is a Clearview Township firefighter.  He and Quinlan applied first aid and were able to revive the most seriously injured boy until emergency medical services arrived.

For their efforts, Quinlan and Leblond received the Chief's Citation Award from Owen Sound Police Chief Bill Sornberger.

Leblond says he's thankful the boys are OK.

"It's a great feeling knowing that the two boys are up and around and better. It really feels nice to be recognized for your efforts," says Leblond.

Both Leblond and Quinlan credit each other with being there to help to save the boy's life. They say they probably couldn't have done it alone.  A third teen was not as seriously injured in the Owen Sound crash.
