The Listowel native shot a 2-under 69 and is eight shots back of leader Marc Leishman.
Conners is tied for 57th along with countryman Nick Taylor.
Fellow Canadian Ben Silverman is at 1-under and tied for 79th while David Hearn is at even par and tied for 104th.
