25 Years Of Support For Huron County Businesses

The former Huron Business Development Corporation held its annual general meeting Wednesday.

The occasion also marked the 25th anniversary of the organization, and a few things have changed over the years.

The HBDC is now Community Futures Huron and the office has moved from downtown Seaforth to the medical building in Brussels.

General Manager Paul Nichol says the former Huron Business Development Corporation has had a significant impact on Huron County. He points out the Corporation has helped about 40% of the businesses in Huron County - that includes small enterprises and many farms.

They have worked with them either financially or providing advice to help them get to the next step.

He says that's a total of over 7500 jobs, or one-quarter of the workforce in Huron County today.
