Attack Lose in Game 7

The Owen Sound Attack are out of the post season. Sean Durzi scored twice and set up three more but it wasn't enough as the Attack fell 9-7 to Sault Ste. Marie in Game 7 of their second round playoff series.

Boris Katchouk led the Greyhounds with a hat trick and an assist including scoring the game winner in the latter half of the third period.

Brett McKenzie opened the scoring midway through the first to put the Attack up 1-0 but the lead was short lived. Noah Carrol put the Greyhounds on the board just over a minute later and the Soo scored three more before the period was done to lead 4-1 heading into the second.

The Attack allowed two more midway through the second before Durzi scored his first of the game with less than five minutes to play in the middle frame.

Brett McKenzie scored again for Owen Sound early in the third on the power play making it 8-3 for the Greyhounds. Katchouk's power play goal at 13:46 would stand as the game winner. It was late in the third that the Attack's offense came alive with three back-to-back goals, putting them within two points of the Soo with less than two-and-a-half minutes left to play. Taylor Raddysh scored an empty netter at 18:03 to give the Greyhounds some insurance. Kevin Hancock scored a power play goal with a minute left for Owen Sound.

Matthew Villalta earned the win with 29 saves for the Soo. Mack Guzda stopped 22 of 29 shots while sharing goal tending duties with Olivier Lafrenière who made three saves on four shots.
