UPDATE: Power Restoration A Slow Job Monday

Hydro One now expects it could take until about 11pm Monday night to restore power to most people in Midwestern Ontario following the weekend's massive ice storm.

Over 4,000 customers were still without power Monday morning, in the region scattered across the map from the Kincardine area, to the Bayfield area, into southern Perth County and Northern Wellington.

Hydro One's Storm Centre outages map still shows at least a dozen locations in Perth, Huron, Bruce, Wellington and Grey counties where crews are working to restore power.

Hydro One crews have made considerable progress, amid hazardous conditions and significant damage including broken poles, downed lines, and fallen trees.

As power restoration work is completed in one area, crews are dispatched to new areas needing their attention.
