Grant Policy Clarified By Huron Economic Development Board

Huron County’s Economic Development Board has approved some clarifications of its grant policy.

Economic Development Director Cody Joudry explains one point the board wanted to make is they don’t want to assume the role of regular funder for any organization, and for that reason, they don’t give out grants.

Joudry points out if an organization wants to partner with the board on a particular project they’re open to that, and the first step would be to call him at the county Economic Development office.

Joudry explains there essentially seven criteria or stipulations in the policy. One is that the project being proposed does not create an unfair competition with private business and does not duplicate some that already exists.

The complete policy will be available on the Huron County website shortly.
