Storm System To Brush Midwestern Ontario

An early-spring storm is heading our way.

A special weather statement has been issued for Perth, Huron, northern Wellington, and southern Bruce and Grey counties. A winter storm warning is in effect for the Bruce Peninsula, from Sauble Beach to Tobermory.

This weather system will bring heavy rainfall tonight, along with accumulating wet snow and ice pellets.

A sharp cold front will blast across the region tomorrow morning, with wind gusts of 40 km/h to 60 km/h or higher.  Blowing snow is possible through the afternoon Wednesday as the temperature falls.

Northern Bruce and Grey could see 5-10 cm of snow Wednesday with a very strong wind. Visibility could be reduced because of blowing snow late Wednesday.

Environment Canada is also warning of the potential for localized power outages, because of ice and snow accumulation on tree branches and hydro lines.
