Huron Economic Development Board Postpones Spring Breakfast

The Chair of Huron County's Economic Development Board says they won't be holding their usual spring breakfast meeting this year.

John Marshall explains those meetings are intended to be a vehicle for updating the public on various projects they're working on and he says at this point they have a lot of projects on the go but nothing specific to report at this time.

“Those meetings are for times when we've got lots of things to say and we've got a lot of projects in play right now, but I don't think we've got enough completed to really give the public a really good update.”

Among those projects is the Growing Success project which Marshall says is moving along well with municipalities being consulted regarding service deliver, but he adds they'd like to have that project a little further along and be able to point to specific outcomes before they make any public announcements.

Marshall added he didn't feel it made sense to spend a lot of money hosting the breakfast when they didn't really have anything significant to announce at this time. He says they expect to host the breakfast sometime in October or November.

“The Growing Success project is very much in play and the municipalities are being consulted with respect to the service delivery and we'd like to have that project really well in hand and that information in.”
